The parliamentary election results in Moldova are also to be viewed as voters’ demands. There is a desire for change and for more rule of law, as envisaged in President Sandu’s reform programme. Advancing the rule of law, fighting corruption, fostering economic development and dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic are all issues on which we have pledged our support, not least during President Sandu’s visit to Berlin. I would like to reiterate this offer of support. Now we have to wait for a government to be formed. We are at any rate looking forward to cooperating closely with President Sandu and a government that tackles the urgently required reforms with determination.
