60 years of diplomatic relations between Germany and New Zealand – Exhibition in the atrium of the Federal Foreign Office

“60 years of diplomatic relations between Germany and New Zealand” is the theme of the new exhibition in the atrium of the Federal Foreign Office, which will run from 7 to 28 November. On 10 November 2013, the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries will be celebrated for the 60th time. The exhibition in the atrium is a joint project of the Federal Foreign Office, the German Embassy in Wellington and the Embassy of New Zealand in Berlin.

The exhibition portrays the multifaceted nature of relations between Germany and New Zealand over the past 60 years and includes information boards on milestones, official visits, cooperation and exchanges in the fields of education, culture and science, on business and tourism as well as on New Zealand’s successful participation as a guest country at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2012. As part of the exhibition, the short film “Far Apart – Close at Heart”, which was commissioned by the German Embassy in Wellington, will be screened for the first time in Germany. In addition, pieces from the photo exhibition of New Zealand “Te Ara – der Weg der Maori (the way of the Maori)” will also be on display.
