On Tuesday, 9 October, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas will participate in, and deliver the ceremonial address at, a formal investiture for three Rabbis and three Cantors in Berlin.

This will already be the sixth ordination of graduates from the Berlin Rabbinical Seminary, which plays a vital role in rebuilding a vibrant and diverse Jewish community in Germany. It will, however, be the first such ordination to be held in Berlin.

Other participants in the event will be Dr Josef Schuster, President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany; Ronald S. Lauder, President of the World Jewish Congress and founder of The Ronald S. Lauder Foundation; and Michael Müller, Mayor of Berlin.
